I have been needing to write and give you a report on our May 2016 trip to Africa to hunt.

I purchased the adventure from the Sacred Selections auction in Lexington, KY in 2015. Having never been on such a hunt we did not know what it would be like so we had some natural concerns. Looking back on the trip there was nothing to worry about everything was great. It was a great experience for me and my three adult sons. We took our own guns and had no problems with the import process, just follow the rules and be patient as the paper is processed when you arrive in Africa. We were picked up at the airport in Johannesburg by Herman and taken to the farm. Herman was very pleasant and took care of everything. At the farm we stayed in the rooms beside Hanno's house. The next morning we were given a tour of the hunting area then assigned three guides that were with us the remainder of the time. They were Uri, Pietra, and Philemon, I'm sure that I misspelled their names. It was amazing how each guide fit the personality of the son he was assigned to. I floated from day to day hunting with each of my sons. The guides were very professional and knew their business and were great trackers. They always got us in a good location and only calling for the shot when it was a good shot. We hunted five days and brought home 9 animals. Unfortunately we left a couple of wounded but that is the way it works out. The meals were great I had no idea that Gemsbuck and Zebra were so good to eat. Staying next to the farmhouse was a great location because you could see all the farm activity and experience being with Hanno's children.

We decided to go to Kruger National Park so Hanno made all the arrangements and sent Herman along as our guide and driver. For two days we toured the park and saw lots of amazing animals. Herman has a great knowledge of the animals and is also a good grill cook. Having him as a guide was like having a friend taking us to see something. The trip was something that we will remember for years. It was especially great for me because the four of us were able to get away and enjoy being together like we did when they were boys.

I have attached a picture of our hunting group.

Thanks for helping set the trip up and tell all the guys hello at AAA when you see them.
